Airbus Group has been working for some years in introducing Predictive Maintenance to Civil and Military platforms, being this position focused on implementing prognostics in Eurodrone Programme.

This position requires a knowledge on aircraft systems engineering and design, collaborating with different stakeholders in order to successfully implement prognostics capabilities in RPAS. The candidate will be member of Predictive Maintenance project for Eurodrone Programme, specialized on design and development activities.

Activities

The activities will be oriented to ensure that predictive maintenance requirements are fully incorporated in RPAS design.

The main scope of activities to be performed are:

  • Manage Design activities to introduce prognostic capabilities in RPAS, being responsible for engaging engineering into predictive maintenance project
  • Manage, monitor and control project activities ensuring that all the objectives and deliverables are delivered on time, on quality and on cost.
  • Interact with all stakeholders related to data generation and acquisition, suppliers, systems designers, system integrators, platform architects….
  • Act as focal point for Design and Supportability Engineering areas to manage requirements, participate in specific workshops, participate in engineering Working groups and discuss technical decisions.
  • Interface with areas in Airbus SAU, Airbus Gmbh, Dassault and Leonardo companies, as well as Tier-2 suppliers from those nationalities
  • Analysis of aircraft systems failure modes (FMEA/FMES, FMECA, FC)
  • Predictive maintenance analysis: aircraft HW/SW resources, customer data sharing agreements, ground HW/SW resources, prognostic approach, procedures in place, involved organizations
  • Review and impact in aircraft systems design, evaluating which equipment parameters would need to be provided to enable prognostic capabilities
  • Lead the definition of selection criteria to identify the aircraft components where predictive maintenance shall be applied (i.e. prognostic candidates)
  • Provide technical support to the team in using design tools (Cameo, 3DX, MATLAB…), analyze technical documentation (FDD, ICDs, architecture…) and prepare program meetings.

  • Degree in Engineering (Aerospace/Industrial preferred)

Knowledge areas

  • Required
    • System/ equipment technical specifications from Suppliers
    • Requirements management (identification, validation, testing)
    • Aircraft systems documentation cascade (SRD, SDD, SID, PTS)
    • Aircraft recording and maintenance systems
    • Aircraft architecture (buses, data interfaces, communication protocols)
    • Aircraft Systems engineering, design, modelling and interfaces definition
    • Communicate and manage the flow of tasks, information and instructions across departments involved in the engineering process
    • Excellent use of information management and presentation tools

  • Valuable
    • Project management fundamentals.
    • Customer/Airbus maintenance process procedures and organizations
    • Knowledge of Spanish national industry, technology projects and Airbus DS portfolio related to predictive maintenance
    • Basis on Safety and Airworthiness (i.e Qualification, Certification)

IT Skills

  • Required
    • Tools used for systems engineering, requirements definition and modelling (DOORS, CAMEO, Matlab & Simulink)
    • Tools used for interface definition and control (e.g. ICDMS)
    • Expert usage of MS Package (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project)

  • Valuable
    • Knowledge of visualization tools (e.g. RShiny, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)
    • Basic skills in Programming (Matlab, Python, C#, VBA, etc)
    • Tools used for Project Management (Confluence, JIRA, Unified Planning)

  • The candidate should have good communication skills with different target audiences and a proactive approach to reduce learning curve time, being willing to work with a multifunctional team.
  • The candidate should have problem-solving skills and creativity to come up with new ideas, being able to work autonomously
